Ania Przygoda
Sound Designer, Dialogue & FX Editor
Ania Przygoda is an award-winning sound editor and designer based in the UK, with extensive experience across documentaries, indie films, and television. Holding an MA in Sound Design for Film and Television from the prestigious National Film and Television School (UK), she has contributed to a wide array of acclaimed projects.
Ania’s work includes notable feature films such as The Story of Looking, I Am Not A Witch, and Make Up. In 2014, she was recognized as Best Sound Designer at the Underwire Film Festival and earned a nomination for the Verna Fields Golden Reel Award from the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE), of which she is also a member.
In recent years, Ania has worked on The Famous Five, a modern retelling of classic children’s stories, created by Nicolas Winding Refn, and The Last Rifleman starring Pierce Brosnan. She has also worked on significant documentaries like Hong Kong Mixtape and The Oil Machine. In 2022, she contributed to the innovative project The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, which combined live theatre at Leith Theatre with a nationwide cinematic broadcast. The same year, she collaborated with filmmaker Mark Cousins on the Like A Huge Scotland art installation for Edinburgh’s Fruitmarket Gallery, following their previous work together on the documentary The Story of Looking.
Ania was the supervising sound editor for the feature film Make Up, which competed in the First Feature category at the BFI London Film Festival. Earlier in her career, she worked on I Am Not A Witch, which premiered at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival and earned director Rungano Nyoni a Best Director award at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA).
Her work has been part of films honored with some of cinema’s most prestigious awards, including the Palme d’Or at Cannes, the Golden Leopard at Locarno, and top prizes at festivals in Tampere, San Sebastián, and ZINEBI Bilbao. Her career reflects her deep commitment to the craft of sound design, editing, and mixing across both short and feature-length projects.
